Game company head dies after 'poisoning' by colleague

(China Daily) The founder and chairman of a Shanghai-based game company passed away on Dec 25, reportedly after being poisoned by his colleague.

In an announcement on Dec 23, the game company Yoozoo Games said Lin Qi, 39, felt uncomfortable and went to hospital for treatment. He passed away after treatment failed.

Shanghai police said they received a call on Dec 17 when a man surnamed Lin was suspected of being poisoned during diagnosis and treatment at a local hospital.

After the police’s investigation, Lin’s colleague Xu came under strong suspicion for the crime and was detained. Further investigation is underway, according to the police’s official weibo account. But the police didn’t disclose the victim was Lin Qi.

Later on the same day, the game company released an announcement on its official WeChat account that Lin was in hospital for treatment and the police was involved. The company would release related information based on the regulation of the stock exchange.

Yoozoo Games, founded in 2009 by Lin Qi, is an entertainment company specializing in game development and distribution.
