The ETRISE’s Top MSMEs Ranking were announced recently to recognise MSMEs which have done a stellar job in their respective fields. Indian MSMEs boast of a diverse and dynamic set of entrepreneurs who are breaking new boundaries every day. In a volatile and uncertain economic climate, it becomes important to find businesses that drive growth, innovation and job creation. The winners were chosen after going through numerous parameters. The award for India’s Top Performing MSMEs went to REConnect Energy and Clairvoyant India which shared the top slot, followed by Rotomag Motors.

Renewable energy gets top ranking



REConnect Energy, which bagged the top slot, has created a digital energy platform grid connect to enable electric utilities to optimize grids and asset management. Its platform has empowered 12 electric utilities to the tune of about 65 GW of RE assets across India. This has been done by helping them optimise renewable energy integration to the grid, minimising imbalance costs pertaining to renewables, and optimising energy dispatch and smart asset management.

Sharing the first position with REConnect Energy for India’s Top Performing MSMEs was Clairvoyant India. This is a global technology consulting and services company that helps organizations to build innovative products and solutions using big data, analytics and the cloud. The firm’s data security product Kogni provides compliance, audit and security teams the ability to discover and take care of sensitive data. The company’s portfolio boasts core expertise in the domain of operationalising data platforms on-premise and cloud, and using AI to create the desired impact. Besides this, data analytics, AI/ML, cloud engineering, DevSecOps, and Hadoop Managed Services are part of the service offerings. The third spot in India’s Top Performing MSMEs went to Rotomag Motors and Control Pvt Ltd. The company’s USP is in design and product engineering which has enabled it to offer a comprehensive range of permanent magnet D.C. motors; wound field DC motors, gear motors, amongst other. Rotomag claims to be the first company in India to use advanced permanent magnets in electric motors and can deliver more efficient motors through the use of brushless DC technology using rare earth magnets. The top position for India’s Fastest Growing MSMEs went to Vivifi India Finance Pvt Ltd. The company’s co-founders, Anil Pinapala and Srinath Kompella, saw that no bank or NBFC would take the risk of dealing with the underserved and unserved consumer in India. Thus, they launched Vivifi, an NBFC, two years ago. Vivifi’s flagship service, FlexSalary, a personal emergency line of credit offers credit starting as low as Rs 1,000 for customers earning as low as Rs 8,000. It provides to pay anytime the minimum balance or payoff or anywhere in between with no penalties. Besides this, the lines can also expand up to 100% of income with the one time approval valid for three years.

The second spot in India’s Fastest Growing MSMEs went to Kor Energy India. This company was formed to address the need to cut electricity expenses by leveraging the benefits of solar energy. The company deals with design, procurement and construction of solar power plants. It also provides third-party consultancy services related to design, inspection, project management, audit and financing for solar power plants. The company offers customised solutions as per electricity requirement of an establishment. From designing the system to installation of the rooftop solar panels, the firm takes care of everything. Apart from rooftop solar panels, Kor Energy supplies and helps in installation of Solar and Wind Hybrid Lighting Systems.

The third spot was taken by FlexiLoans.com, a brand owned by NBFC Epimoney Pvt Ltd. This company boasts of being a market leader in ecosystem-based digital lending for small businesses in India. ‘Loans at a click’ is the vision with which the founders had embarked upon this journey. It offers SMEs a lending solution which focuses on the three key aspects of technology, products and partnerships. Till December 2019, FlexiLoans.com had disbursed loans in over 1,400 plus cities and towns with a branchless presence, and their average loan ticket size is Rs 275,000 of over 30,000 MSME loans.

India’s Top Innovative MSMEs had 20 companies in the list, including Cellzyme Biotech. This company uses environment-friendly operations to make enzymes. Co-founded by Rajkumar Rajagopal, Naveen Kumar and Vasu Vinayagam, the company produces enzymes which help in bio-process, diagnostics and manufacturing of antibiotic ingredients, antiretrovirals (drugs that treat HIV) and other pharmaceutical ingredients using environment-friendly processes.
