New Delhi: Educational technology platform Lido Learning today announced that it is starting a new vertical for kids in between kindergarten and Class 3. The company will 300 new tutors for the same.
The new offering is called Lido Headstart and it offers courses in English, mathematics and coding to children as young as 4 years old.
“Every study about neurological pathways tells us that the early years of a child’s life are the most crucial years for their cognitive development. Since Lido’s learning philosophy has always been about engagement, curiosity, and the spirit of exploration, creating world-class programs for kindergartners was always on the cards,” says Sahil Sheth, Founder and CEO, Lido Learning.
“We’re thrilled with the positive response, and look forward to scaling up to keep pace with the demand, but we’re very aware of the responsibility that comes with it. We’re committed to maintaining our low teacher-student ratio of 1:3 so that each child can get the personalised attention they deserve.”
The new offering was launched 3 weeks ago, with around 300 trial classes happening daily, according to the company.
Indian parents have shown great enthusiasm for Lido Headstart’s offering since its announcement less than 20 days ago, with over 300 trial classes being taken by students daily, both from India and overseas.
The company said that teachers undergo training in digital literacy, screen presence, and cultivating a strong classroom environment. The company said it is an equal-opportunity employment policy, and employs several senior citizens. “At Lido, we believe that great teachers are not necessarily the ones who have years of teaching experience, but the ones who spark curiosity in students, even if they haven’t taught in formal classroom settings before. We’re currently scouring every corner of the country for skilled candidates, and are eager to bring on board teachers with a wide variety of experiences from all walks of life, says Nandini Mullaji, chief strategy officer, Lido Learning.
