Dada Group net revenue up 85.5% in Q3


(China Daily) Dada Group, China’s leading local on-demand delivery and retail platform reported its net revenue reached 1.3 billion yuan ($197.6 million) in the third quarter of 2020, an increase of 85.5 percent year-on-year.


The orders delivered through Dada Now for the twelve months ending Sept 30 were 1.0 billion, as compared with 635.5 million in the same period of last year.


The total gross merchandise volume of JD Daojia, the on-demand retail platform of Dada Group, for the twelve months ending Sept 30, was 21.3 billion yuan, up 102.9 percent on a yearly basis.


The number of active consumers on JD Daojia for the 12 months ending Sept 30 was 37.3 million, an increase of 77.1 percent year-on -year from 21.1 million in the same period of 2019.


“JD Daojia remains the largest local on-demand retail platform in the China supermarket segment with 24 percent market share in the first nine months of 2020, up from 21 percent in 2019. Dada Now maintains the largest open on-demand delivery platform in China with 24 percent market share in the first nine months of 2020, up from 19 percent market share last year,” said Philip Kuai, chairman and CEO of Dada Group.


“Our commitment to bringing people everything on demand continues to win over consumers, especially in the lower-tier cities in China where we are expanding. We believe we have an exciting journey ahead as we execute our growth strategy,” said Kuai.


He noted that JD Daojia has covered more than 1,200 counties, districts and cities across the country by the third quarter, and sales in lower-tier cities rose 170 percent in the July-September period on a yearly basis.
