Indian gamers upset over PUBG ban as community faces career loss

India banned an additional 118 Chinese-owned apps, including the popular game PUBG, on concerns over “stealing” user data and for engaging in activities prejudicial to the country’s “sovereignty and integrity”.

The move is expected to severely hurt India’s small but fledgling game streaming and the professional gaming community. India’s top game streamers and professional players earn up to 30 to 40 lakhs per month while mid-level ones earn 2 to 20 lakhs a month.






The ban on PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ (PUBG) apps have created a furor among gaming creators and professional streamers in India. The move is expected to severely hurt India’s small but fledgling game streaming and the professional gaming community. India’s top game streamers and professional players earn up to 30 to 40 lakhs per month while mid-level ones earn 2 to 20 lakhs a month. PUBG commands almost half of the gaming streaming market
