Unitus Ventures gets Rs 75 crore in investments from SIDBI


BENGALURU: Unitus Ventures has got Rs 75 crore in investments under the SIDBI’s Fund of Funds for Startups, the venture fund said on Tuesday.


Out of this, it announced Rs 8.5 crore investment in Masai School, a startup focussing ed-tech solutions. The fresh funding will strengthen the second fund, launched in 2018, it said in a press release.


The fund II will invest in 15-20 startups in early and scale-up stages, and the focus will be on stellar teams, said Srikrishna Ramamoorthy, partner at Unitus Ventures. The fund II focusses startups developing platforms that connect job seekers with employers.


Raj and Indra Nooyi, and former Cognizant CEO Lakshmi Narayanan are some of the new investors who join existing investors such as Gates Ventures family office, the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation and Hemendra Kothari in Fund II, the press release added.
