Facebook-Matrix Partners plan to scale small and medium businesses

Bengaluru: Facebook has partnered with the venture capital firm Matrix Partners as part its VC Brand Incubator Program to help scale and support early-stage small and medium businesses. Following the tie-up, over 20 portfolio companies including Country Delight, Stanza Living, OZiva, ManMatters, Zupee, The Whole Truth and Dealshare have joined the programme, said Matrix India director Sanjot Malhi in a statement.

Brand building is a crucial part of growing and scaling your company, and Facebook’s incubator programme is a great stepping stone for early stage consumer-focused companies who are looking to build awareness and engagement with a digital audience, Malhi said.

Facebook launched the initiative in India in June last year, to provide vertical-specific insights to small and medium businesses to help them leverage its family of apps for brand-building and advertising initiatives. Over the past year, the social networking giant has partnered with six venture capital firms in the country for the initiative.
