Educational Initiatives appoints new chief product & technology officer

BENGALURU: Edtech firm Educational Initiatives has announced the appointment of Umesh Joshi as its chief product and technology officer.

As part of the senior management team of Educational Initiatives (EI), Joshi will be responsible for delivering products that support the firm’s business goals, which involves product management, product development, product delivery and product impact chain. An alumni of IIT-Kanpur, he has in-depth knowledge and expertise in cloud-based solution and data security.

Prior to joining EI, Joshi was the chief technology officer at Hush. He co-founded Hush and VoyageUp. Before venturing into the startup business, his experience of more than 20 years spanned diverse roles in product development, product management and software development in organisations like VMware, Yahoo, McAfee, Talisma Corporation, Aditi Technologies and Mahindra British Telecom.

EI has access to over 20 years of proprietary learning data, and Umesh’s deep technology expertise and hands-on approach will be pivotal for the company and play a critical part in our future growth based on product and technology innovation,” Srini Raghavan, co-founder and CEO, Educational Initiatives, told ET.

“Student enrolment in the K12 industry in India is expected to grow at over 65% in the next ten years. EI has, for two decades, focused on building learning solutions with proven impact.
