“After 1,100% growth achieved in mobile phone manufacturing which has enabled saturation of domestic demand and started exports, we are on the verge of an explosive growth. There has been a small delay in the take off because of the pandemic but in spite of that, we will add around 50,000 direct jobs by December end,” said Pankaj Mohindroo
Mumbai: The handset manufacturing industry expects to recruit some 50,000 direct employees by December end, with the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme starting to move the hiring machines for the likes of Foxconn, Wistron, Samsung and local players such as Dixon and Lava.The development may come as a brief breather to a country which saw nearly five million salaried people losing their jobs in July, according to the Centre for Monitoring
