Creator economy built by TikTok, Likee to collapse, Indian video apps get ready to attract them

The turbulence in the creator economy built by Chinese apps is, however, good news for competing Indian apps, which are already planning to roll out the red carpet for them.

SynopsisBuilt and nurtured chiefly by the now-banned TikTok, Likee and Bigo Live, an estimated 15-20 million of the 200 million short-video app users create content regularly across India. And, up to 500,000 of these are professional, full-time creators who make money through brand endorsements, events and workshops.
